Jack Doherty has been making 'Doherty Porcelain' for more than thirty years.

The business began in Ireland after training at the Ulster College of Art and Design and a period of work at the Kilkenny Design Workshops.

In the early days he was involved with the production of domestic ceramics made in both stoneware and porcelain.

Now Jack Doherty makes thrown and slab built functional forms ranging from exquisitly fine transclucent vessels to large rugged wall pieces.

Jack Doherty has been Chair of the Craft Potters Associationof GB for many years and is involved with the organisation of potters conferences,fairs and workshops.
