Porcelain by Jack Doherty published by A&C Black ISBN 0-7136-5085-0

Porcelain is known and highly prized for its delicacy, translucence, fineness and whiteness. It is by reputation the most difficult of clays to work with and demands particular care at all stages of the making and firing process. In this book I look at porcelain, its recent history, the clays and materials, forming methods, surface treatments, firing schedules and recipes which can be used. I believe that the result is a hand book which provides a practical insight into ways of using an exciting and beautiful material.
